Sandborg takes Fjällbacka Open by one shot

Jesper Sandborg won the Cutter & Buck Fjällbacka Open at Fjällbacka Golfklubb, finishing at -11 to beat two players tied at -10 by a single shot. The victory came after three rounds played from May 21 to 23, and it was tight until the end.

Sharing second place at -10 were Johannes Axell, who plays at the same club as Sandborg — Landeryds Golfklubb — and Elias Pettersson from Stockholms Golfklubb. For Pettersson, this was a big step forward. His best result on the Nordic Golf tour before this week was a tied 29th place, so finishing tied second is a clear improvement. Wilhelm Ahlgren ended fourth at -9, and Roope Kakko from Finland was fifth at -8.

The first round included a strong 63 from Oskari Nikku, one of the best rounds of the week. Sandborg himself has been playing well this season, with a tied third place at the INFINITUM Championship earlier in the year.

The cut fell at even par, with 50 players from a field of 156 going through to the final round.
