Settemsdal wins Gamle Fredrikstad Open with eagle on last hole

Alexander Settemsdal won the Gamle Fredrikstad Open at -14, finishing one shot ahead of Anton Karlsson at -13. The win was decided on the last hole, where Settemsdal made eagle while Karlsson made birdie. That eagle gave Settemsdal the one-shot lead he needed to take the title.

Settemsdal, who plays out of Nøtterøy Golfklubb, has been playing well this season. He finished third at the Royal Unibrew Championship at Royal Oak earlier in the year, so this win was not a surprise.

Sebastian Eidsæther Syr finished third at -10, four shots behind the winner. Jakob Liljedal and Kasper Nyland shared fourth place at -9.

The field had 156 players, and 54 made the cut at +1. That is a few more than the usual 45, showing how close the scores were across the field.
