Høst and Jacobsen win Team Trophy after late birdie

August Thor Høst and Christian Jacobsen from Great Northern Golf Club won the Max Matthiessen Team Trophy at Smørum Golfklub on July 31. Their birdie on the 18th hole in the final round brought them to a total score of -21 — the same score that Sebastian Eidsæther Syr and Marcus Svensson from Losby Golfklubb and Halmstad Golfklubb had already posted. Høst and Jacobsen won on countback.

The final round was played as four ball best ball. Syr and Svensson had also birdied the par-4 18th hole and looked set to win, but Høst and Jacobsen matched them with a birdie of their own on the same hole. The two teams finished level at -21, and the title was decided in favour of the Danish pair.

One shot behind at -20 were Bjørn La Cour Søborg and Oliver Hundebøll Jørgensen from Lyngbygaard Golf Klub and Silkeborg Golfklub. Two teams shared fourth place at -19: Tom Røed Karlsen and Kasper Nyland from Nøtterøy Golfklubb, and Ludvig Eriksson and Filip Jinglöv from Stockholms Golfklubb.

A total of 84 teams took part in the three-day event at Smørum Golfklub near Copenhagen.
